Civil Surgeon Kishoreganj

Dr. Saiful Islam took charge of the Civil Surgeon of Kishoreganj district on 13/01/2022. Before this, he served as Assistant Director of Kishoreganj 250 Bed General Hospital from 1st July 2021 to 12th January 2022.


Dr. Saiful Islam was born on 1st January 1978 in Manohardi Upazila of Narsingdi District in a noble Muslim family. He obtained an MBBS degree from Bangladesh Sylhet Osmani Medical College. On 21st August 2006 AD he joined civil service as a member of the 25th batch of BCS (Health) cadre to serve the people.


He successfully served as Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer, Shibpur, Narsingdi and as Assistant Surgeon, Resident Medical Officer and Assistant Director from 19th February 2017 to 12th January 2022. He was awarded the Minister of Health Award twice during his tenure as Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer, Shibpur, Narsingdi.

He has travelled to different countries, including Malaysia, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, India and Nepal, to participate in training, meetings, seminars, workshops and various programs at the international level. Apart from this, he also served in the United Nations Congo Mission with success. In his personal life, he is married. His wife Dr. Farjana Yasmin is also working in the Bangladesh Civil Service and as Assistant Professor in the Biochemistry Department at Shaheed Syed Nazrul Islam Medical College. They have two sons.
